a living landscapeEstablished in 1978, Ebey’s Reserve is America’s first national historical reserve. The Trust Board represents local, state, and federal partners. It is a fertile place of natural and agricultural abundance where history stands present among us. It is a community of resilient people of rural character.

stewardshipBy design, eighty-five percent of the Reserve’s working landscape of 17,572 acres is privately owned. Therefore, sustainability and protection rests with all of us. The icons of this cultural landscape are lost incrementally – one barn or house at a time. Stewardship of this land and its historic structures requires significant resources. Without support, as each building falls, our hope of Ebey’s Forever will fade along with the character of this place.
